TOURNAMENT STAFF TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Job/Tasks & Descriptions
FRONT DESK / ADMISSION–
-Collect entry fees and provide each spectator with an entry bracelet.
-Responsible for making sure each spectator coming through the gymnasium doors have an entry bracelet visibly worn.
-Expected to handle minor issues and report any major issues to the Event Director(s).
BOND CONCIERGE –
Responsible for providing a high level of front line customer service and administrative assistance during the event to both internal and external guests; This person will be the point of contact for those who have questions, comments, and concerns. This is an onsite position.
- Face to face customer service.
-Providing information to patrons, staff, participants, and other guests
-Handling other administrative duties and projects for Concierge.
-Concierge personnel will be given a full information list to follow and will be responsible for passing the information to those in need. (Information including, event details, local addresses, event director information…etc)
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to manage customer service requests, provide information to event goers and to respond to oral and written instructions.
-Sells concessions including drinks and food items to patrons at the event.
-Receives money and makes correct change for customer.
-Monitors money in cash drawer to ensure adequate change is available.
-Performs other duties such as clean up of concession stand and counting revenues as assigned by supervisor.
-Keep track of inventories and report items running low, to supervisor
-Supervises setup and breakdown of stand.
-Oversees all cleanliness and sanitation of stand.
-Perform other job-related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and skill in handling money including making change. Skill in public relations. Ability to effectively communicate.
SCORE KEEPERS & CLOCK RUNNERS –
-To keep score and time accurately.
-Record, keep track of and turn in score cards to the supervisor.
-Set up and put away equipment.
-Collect line-ups before the start of each game.
-Relay any program information to participants and spectators.
-Keep supervisor informed of any concerns, or issues related to the program.
-Report any damaged or broken equipment to the Supervisor.
-To be friendly, helpful, cheerful to participants, the public and other staff.
-To maintain an atmosphere of good sportsmanship for players, coaches and spectators.
-To interact well with children and encourage positive social skills.
Knowledge of the sport of basketball. Ability to relate to both youth and adults.
Normal vision needed with or without correction. Must be capable of reaching (extending the hands or arms in any direction); handling (seizing, holding, grasping, turning and otherwise working with the hands); and fingering (picking, pinching, or otherwise working with the fingers).
EXTENT OF SUPERVISION OR GUIDANCE PROVIDED:
Will have training session. Must be able to work independently. Supervised by Basketball Supervisor.
SETUP / CLEANUP-
Each staff member responsible for setup and clean up of their stations. (Full Day: expected to be at event no later than 45min BEFORE event starts, to set up table, run through details, and operate for early arrival guests.)
